Hormone Yoga for Men Is Not Yoga
What hormone yoga therapy (HYT) Does Differently and Why It Works for Men
When a man hears the word yoga, he usually imagines stretching, flexibility, complicated poses, and an hour on a mat.
"I am not a yoga person."
I hear this from men quite often.
And that is exactly why one thing needs to be said clearly:
Hormone Yoga Therapy for men is not classical yoga.
Yes, it uses yoga positions. It works with breath, concentration, and the body. But it is not a standard yoga class focused on stretching or relaxation.
It is a system developed in collaboration with physiotherapists and doctors. It contains yoga techniques assembled specifically to act as intensively as possible on the hormonal system.
It is a complete sequence of exercises
I have been practising Hormone Yoga Therapy by Dinah Rodrigues for nearly ten years. I studied it personally with its author and today I teach it as one of only three certified men in the world who actively teach this method.
And over that time I have understood one important thing.
I am not turning men into yogis. I am passing on a method that helps them feel better and helps their body function better.
Men need a system they can practise regularly and fit into their everyday lives.
What is Hormone Yoga Therapy for men?
Hormone Yoga Therapy for men is a method by Dinah Rodrigues.
It is not a single exercise or a few randomly selected yoga positions.
The sequence combines 16 specific yoga positions, breathing techniques, concentration, and additional special techniques.
Each part has its place and together they form a complete system.
That is why it is important not to practise individual exercises in isolation, but to learn the full sequence.
HYT is not about blindly raising hormones
When I talk about the hormonal system, I do not mean blindly raising or lowering individual hormones.
It is about optimisation.
The goal is to support the body's ability to work with its own hormonal system and its natural regulation.
The hormonal system is not a simple on-off switch. You cannot simply say: "I have low testosterone, so I need to raise it."
The body is far more complex than that.
Testosterone, cortisol, serotonin, and other hormones are all connected. In my experience, it is more important to work with the whole system than to focus on a single hormone.
And that is exactly where I see the key difference between HYT and regular exercise.
Testosterone, energy, and male strength
One of the most common reasons men start practising HYT is testosterone.
As it declines, men may notice fatigue, lower energy, reduced libido, or a drop in overall vitality.
HYT works through specific techniques on areas connected to the hormonal system, including the testes and adrenal glands.
The goal is not to supply the body with a hormone from the outside.
It is about supporting the body's own work.
That is why I see HYT as a natural form of exercise for men who want to actively work on their energy, vitality, and hormonal system.
What about stress and cortisol?
Another thing I see very often in men is stress.
Modern male life is often a combination of work, business, family, responsibility, and constant pressure.
Long-term stress can leave a significant mark on how a man feels — his energy, sleep, recovery, mood, and sex life.
HYT includes breathing and concentration techniques that also work with the nervous system.
That is why men often describe feeling calmer after regular practice, sleeping better, and recovering more effectively.
Hormone yoga is not only about testosterone
The hormonal system is not just testosterone.
When a man starts practising HYT, he may gradually notice changes in several areas at the same time — more energy, better mobility, better sleep, better recovery, less stress, greater enjoyment of life, and for some men also changes in libido and sex life.
That is exactly why I use the word optimisation.
It is not about chasing one specific hormone.
It is about the whole system.
A real experience from a man after several weeks of Hormone yoga
The best thing, of course, is to hear the experience directly from a man who practised HYT.
One of my clients wrote to me:
"Hormone yoga had an incredible effect on me too. I practised every morning for about two weeks and immediately noticed major changes in libido, energy, and more.
Before, I barely had any desire for sex because of stress. But after just a few days I wanted it three times a day — and on top of that, the erection problems I had due to a pelvic floor issue disappeared.
Hormone yoga simply works brilliantly."
— J. J.
This is not theory from the internet.
This is the experience of a real man who practised HYT regularly.
And over nearly ten years of teaching, I have heard similar experiences from men many times.
Every man is different and every man responds to exercise differently. But that is exactly why I consider personal experience so important.
Why can men actually do Hormone yoga?
Because you do not need to be a yogi. You do not need to be flexible. You do not need any previous experience with yoga. And you do not need to go to a gym.
My clients are men who have never done yoga and last stretched somewhere back in school. Men in their thirties with poor sperm analysis results. And men in their forties, fifties, or even over seventy — all practising for their male health.
You practise the sequence the way your body currently allows. Over time you can become more mobile and gain greater control over your body. The full practice takes approximately 22 to 35 minutes. You do it at home and you need no special equipment. And above all, you do not need to change your whole life. You just need to build a regular routine.
How often should men practise Hormone Yoga Therapy?
I recommend consistency. Ideally at least four times a week, depending on each man's situation and experience. The more regularly you practise, the faster the results appear. Many men practise in the morning, others in the evening. The important thing is to find a time you can sustain long-term. HYT is not a one-off exercise. It is a system that works as a regular practice.
And consistency, in my experience, is one of the most important factors.
Hormone Yoga for Men is not a flexibility contest
I want to emphasise this once more.
If you can touch the ground with your hands, it does not mean you are doing HYT better.
If you cannot touch the ground, it does not mean you are doing it wrong. I have many clients who practise only in small ranges of motion, technically correctly — that is their maximum, and they still get excellent results.
Every body is different. You practise this method the way your body currently allows. And I can promise you — it will allow more and more over time. You just need to give it a little time and not push through pain.
HYT is not gymnastics. It is not a competition. And it is not showing off yoga poses on Instagram. It is work with your own body.
Why did I decide to teach Hormone yoga specifically to men?
A few years ago I felt myself running out of energy.
That was when I discovered the system by Dinah Rodrigues, which surprised me with its sophistication and its focus on the hormonal system.
I said to myself: "Every man needs to know about this."
I have been practising and teaching HYT ever since.
I studied it directly with Dinah Rodrigues.
Today I teach men in person and through an online course.
Over nearly ten years I have worked with more than a thousand men.
My clients include politicians, artists, business owners, filmmakers from different parts of the world, and men who simply want to support their energy, vitality, and health naturally.
And it is exactly that work with men that convinced me this system is worth passing on.
So what does HYT actually do differently?
The answer is simple. It is not just yoga. It is a system.
A system that combines movement, breath, concentration, and special techniques.
It is focused on the hormonal system. It is designed so that even a man who has never practised yoga before can do it regularly.
And you do not need an hour a day. Approximately 22 to 35 minutes is enough. At home. No gym. No special equipment. And without needing to be flexible.
Hormone Yoga for Men: the simple answer
So when a man asks me: "Is Hormone Yoga really yoga?"
I answer:
Yes, it draws from yoga.
But Hormone Yoga Therapy for men is a method for male health.
It is a specific system by Dinah Rodrigues that combines 16 specific yoga positions, breathing techniques, concentration, and additional techniques.
It is focused on the hormonal system and its goal is to support its natural functioning.
After nearly ten years of working with men, I can say one thing:
Do not worry about whether you are "a yoga person."
If you care about energy, vitality, testosterone, libido, stress, sleep, or overall male health — first understand how HYT works.
And then start practising it regularly. Because your own experience is always the best answer.
