Men's Health and the Impact of Hormonal Imbalance

Testosterone is the primary male hormone that influences many aspects of a man's life. When its levels fall outside the optimal range, we feel it in our own body.

What can hormonal imbalance cause? How do we recognize it? And what can we do to stabilize it?

In an interview for Therapaphoteka, I spoke about Hormonal Yoga for Men, my own personal experience, and why I decided to start teaching this system to other men.

What Affects Testosterone Levels?

There are many factors that can influence testosterone levels.

These include primarily chronic stress, poor diet, lack of sleep, insufficient movement, excess body weight, and certain substances from the surrounding environment.

Stress

When we are under long-term stress, the body produces more cortisol. Chronic stress can therefore negatively affect testosterone production.

Sleep

Quality sleep is essential for hormonal balance. Lack of sleep can affect not only our energy, but also testosterone levels.

Movement

A sedentary lifestyle is not ideal for men's health. Regular movement is one of the fundamental pillars of caring for the body.

Excess Body Weight

Excess body fat can influence the hormonal environment of the body and is also associated with lower testosterone levels.

How Do We Know Something Is Wrong?

Hormonal imbalance can manifest in many ways. Decreased libido, fatigue, lack of energy, mood changes, loss of muscle mass, or an overall decline in vitality may appear.

That is precisely why we should not always view individual problems in isolation.

The body functions as a whole.

How Did I Come to Hormone Yoga?

In the interview, I also described my own story.

Behind everything, look for a woman. 🙂

My wife Adélka Bavlšíková is one of the first instructors of Hormonal Yoga Therapy for Women in our country.

At the time we met, I was living under constant stress due to my work at the time.

I had sleep problems, I was burned out, and from that came problems with libido as well.

I did not want to go down the path of medication. And because I did not want to lose my now wife, I let her recommend Hormonal Yoga to me.

I went to my first course without any expectations.

And then came the wow effect.

The very next day, I slept through the entire night for the first time in three years.

Within a week, significant improvement came in other areas as well.

And that is when I said to myself:

"Every man needs to know about this practice."

What Is Hormone Yoga for Men?

Hormone Yoga Therapy for Men according to Dinah Rodrigues is a set of exercises focused on working with the hormonal system.

It works with, for example, the pituitary gland, the thyroid, and the adrenal glands.

The routine was developed in collaboration with specialists and the individual techniques are rooted in yoga.

The creator of the method, Dinah Rodrigues, worked on this routine for more than 20 years.

The men's routine has the same foundation as Women's Hormonal Yoga, but the individual techniques are different and adapted to the male body.

It is focused on, for example, supporting testosterone, male vitality, libido, and prostate health.

Three Men in the World

Today I am one of three men in the world who teach Hormone Yoga Therapy for Men according to Dinah Rodrigues.

I am also the only man in the world who teaches Hormonal Yoga for diabetics.

Together with my wife Adélka Bavlšíková and with the creator of Hormonal Yoga, Dinah Rodrigues, we also train and certify new Hormonal Yoga instructors.

Is the Practice Demanding?

One of the things men often ask about is their level of physical ability.

Many men think they need to be flexible for Hormonal Yoga.

They do not.

99% of the men who attend my courses have never practiced yoga before.

The last time they stretched was sometime back in school. 🙂

Every man practices according to his current physical abilities. The routine is also practiced by men over 65 and they handle it beautifully.

How Often Is It Necessary to Practice?

For the practice to deliver results, consistency is essential.

I recommend at least 3–4 times a week.

The full routine takes approximately 35 minutes. Practicing every day is of course optimal. From my experience, men can begin to feel the effects of the routine within the first week of regular practice.

Five Minutes or One Exercise Is Not Enough

Men often ask me which single exercise they should do if they only have five minutes.

If one exercise or five minutes were enough for the body and mind to function as they should, that would of course be wonderful.

Unfortunately, that is not how it works.

The full routine needs to be completed for results to appear. Every exercise has its place in the system.

How Else Can You Support Men's Health?

Hormonal Yoga is not the only thing we can do for our health. The foundation is still a healthy lifestyle.

Regular movement. Quality sleep. A healthy diet. Stress reduction. Maintaining a healthy body weight.

These are all fundamental things that matter for men's health. Hormonal Yoga can be another way to work with your body regularly.

Why Did I Decide to Teach Hormone Yoga?

Because I needed it myself. Because I experienced its effects firsthand.

And because I wanted more men to know about this method.

Today I teach it in courses and through an online course, where men can learn the entire system step by step and start practicing at home.

Men's health is not just about one hormone. It is about the whole body and how we take care of it.
